Assalamu alaykum,
I'm Umm Zahra, a home-schooling mum of two.
The mother behind Rooted Imaan. There was no big business plan, no grand launch. It began with me simply trying to do the best I could for my two children on our homeschooling journey in the West.
I wanted to understand not only what to teach, but how to nurture them, how to make learning meaningful so it becomes part of who they are.
So I started learning. I enrolled in holistic Tarbiyah training and explored living books and living learning. I fell in love with the idea that children shouldn't simply collect facts. We don't want them to know something is good without knowing how to live it. We want them to think. To ask questions. To recognise what they learn in everyday life.
Whenever I found books I loved, I would adapt them for my children. Instead of “What did you learn?” I would ask: “What could you do? How can you practise this? What would this look like in our home?”
Then I wondered: What if we had more Islamic resources designed this way?
Resources that don't stop at teaching facts about Islam, but help them connect, reflect and practise.
When I couldn't find enough of what I was looking for, I thought: Perhaps I should create them for my own children. And perhaps other mothers are looking for the same thing too.
And that is how Rooted Imaan began.
Our first collection begins at the roots, the foundations: Aqeedah, Tafsir, Fiqh, Hadith, Seerah. This is only the beginning. As our children grow, their questions grow too. We hope to grow alongside them.
Everything here is created with the heart of a mother who is learning alongside her children.
